Opening Reception: Saturday August 2, 2014-6-9PM
Show Runs: August 2 - August 30

Critique of Pure Reason, examines the paintings of Benjamin Rogers, his work finds roots within the rich history of representational painting. The intense and striking oil paintings reveal how a person’s space and objects therein point towards an understanding of identity.

The psychological tenor of the paintings present many layers of conceptual preponderance, ultimately Rogers sees his work as a commentary on the “multiple facets of life and the creative process” in all of its comedy and tragedy. And because of this pursuit the paintings are a visually alluring examination of humanity both intimate and universal.

Benjamin Rogers received his MFA from Arizona State University in 2011 and currently lives and works in Minneapolis. His work has been featured on the cover of New American Paintings and Fresh Paint Magazine, and been exhibited throughout the United States including Purdue University, First Street Gallery, and Bentley Gallery in Phoenix, AZ.
