Flesh Fervor Fancy
September 14 – November 4, 2001
Positing that flesh, fervor, and fancy are key points on the map of
women’s art of the past 40 years, this exhibition explores these impulses as a positive force in the work of five contemporary women artists. Rather than associating the history of women artists through a linear history, the exhibition suggests that a more elliptical charting of women’s art that accepts, even celebrates, repetition and overlap.
