Don’t Make Me Care features the work of Brian David Downs, and Jason and Jesse Pearson. Jesse and Jason are identical twin brothers and collaborative artists who work under the moniker Dick and Wayne. They use photography and drawing to navigate shared experiences and to create narratives existing between fact and fiction based on their memories, family history, and desires and fantasies from adolescence to adulthood. It is a push and pull between worlds – oscillating between a place that is, imagined and remembered, foreign and familiar. Brian’s intricate ink and graphite drawings combine disparate images into a narrative landscape of unsettling mutations and transgressions. His work teeters on the subconscious, blurring, multiplying and dispersing into a white void. Together these artists explore the hazy constructs of memory and personal experience. Revealing worlds of raw emotion, sardonic wit and the volatile nature of uncensored expression.

Born in rural Minnesota, Jesse and Jason completed BFA degrees in photography at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, MN (2002). Jesse completed an MFA in photography at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque (2006), and Jason completed an MFA in photography at Syracuse University, NY (2007). Brian David Downs received his BFA from St. Cloud State University in 2009.
