Tara Costello lives and works in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She received her BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and has exhibited her work nationally and internationally. Her exhibitions include The Burren College of Art in Ireland, the National Gallery of Scotland in Edinburgh, Soo Local (Minnesota), Circa Gallery (MN), Artistry (MN), Sears Peyton Gallery (NY), and the Four Seasons Hotel (Minneapolis, MN). Her gallery affiliations include Rosalux Gallery in Minneapolis—the longest-running artist collective in Minnesota—and Outermost Gallery in Cape Cod. Costello develops an abstract visual language through painting that contemplates aspects of the landscape. She works with rich Venetian plaster troweled onto wood panels; a malleable material built in layers that allows her to explore time, light, and space. Through this process, she seeks to reveal beauty within the illusion of felt space.
