Jeffrey Davis is a Los Angeles–based visual artist whose work spans surrealism, abstraction, and pure experimentation. A self-taught painter, Davis grew up in Golden Valley, Minnesota, and has lived in Philadelphia, Chicago, and New York before making his home in LA. He moved west in 2003, trading East Coast weather for a landscape shaped by earthquakes, fire, and dreamlike inspiration.
While largely self-taught, Davis also completed coursework in sculpture at the University of Pennsylvania and in painting at the University of Chicago. Jeff’s paintings explore everything from quantum mechanics to climate collapse, often filtered through the lens of his own subconscious. His works invite viewers into strange, intuitive spaces layered with texture, color, and unexpected form. Whether working on glass, canvas, or mixed media, Davis approaches art like a scientist tinkering with an experiment—curious about the outcome, unafraid of failure, and often delighted by surprise.
