Quantum Circus is a two person collaborative installation by New York artist Michael Zansky and Minneapolitan Andrea Stanislav, which will be realized at Soo VAC Gallery. Each artist has an affinity for transformative events - Zansky using giant Fresnel lenses and low-fi robotics to transform modern detritus into kinetic sculpture that is startling, banal, and spooky all at once.
Stanislav renders familiar fauna as mythological beasts or new species within fantastical landscapes. The artists had an immediate affinity for each other's work upon meeting, and have been looking for the right space in which to collaborate.
Soo VAC presents the opportunity to create what Stanislav calls "a twisted circus".
